Kantha is a traditional craft form that originated in the state of West Bengal. This craft form was born to support the principles of recycling and sustainability. Old sarees are stitched together using intricate embroidery to make soft, warm quilts for the family to use. Kantha work is done mostly by women working from their homes.
Many women making Kantha products were impacted due to COVID and were left with a lot of inventory they could not sell. We bought a bunch of Kantha shawls, sheets and sarees to support them and then our designer came up with an entire line of products using this. Cushion covers, bags, jackets, table linen are some of the products within our "Kantha Line".
